- Assess, plan and implement patient care plans as appropriate. Ensure surgical safety process are
implemented effectively like surgical safety checklist, pre-op verification, sign-in, Time-out andSign-out are carried out.- Competent in managing post procedure complications, post anesthesia complications, surgical
equipment and instrument handling.- Competent in pre-op, intra-op and post-op medications administration , interpretation of basic
ECG rhythms and arrhythmia, cardiopulmonary resuscitation.- Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
- Applying sterile techniques in handling surgical instruments and equipment during
preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative stages.- Ensure proper handling of implants.
- Competent and be accountable of mops, gauze, sharps, instruments and all other countable
items check with scrub nurse and record on board.- Initial count prior to the skin incision and audible count must be made by both nurses. (scrub
nurse and circulating nurse)- Participate in the promotion of health and safety and be responsible for ensuring that surgical
count all instruments,sharps, needles and swabs used for surgery before closing the procedure- Maintain records and documentation in patient management system such as HIS
- Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent surgical site infections and maintain a sterile
environment.- Recognize and handle emergency situations and complications effectively during the course of
treatment.
