As a clinical physiotherapist who works with individuals with disabilities in Pakistan, I have seen the disparities in access to rehabilitation care. I plan to work with public hospitals and health centers to introduce early at intervention rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities as a result of Neurological conditions. As a young professional, working with children and people with physical disabilities, I began to understand the importance of collaboration, learning from peers, and shared experiences as important methods of both professional and personal development. This experience further enhanced my understanding of collaborate care, and has reinforced that inter-professional networking is important to provide truly patient-centered rehabilitation. Through these events, I am keeping up to date with best practice methods, I have also connected with senior physiotherapists, public health professionals and some policy makers. I also have an active involvement in academic networks, where I connect with professionals from all over the world, especially in the areas of pediatric and neuro-rehabilitation.
